Bengals, Bengals, “burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?” *
In the parlance of felines, Bengal cats are an exquisite exotic breed unto themselves.
They are a man-made breed, a hybrid progeny between an actual wild Asian Leopard and a domestic cat. The result is stunning. They absolutely exude a confidence with and a loyalty to their owners, and will imprint their devotion in a powerful expression of affection.
But it is their remarkable physical traits that belie their high intelligence and mystical demeanor. Owners boast of Bengals having glittering short tight pelts that rarely shed. Of course, they are hypoallergenic for most people.
They are definitely not your ordinary cat. They will follow you like Bagheera. They will fetch with you incessantly. They are muscular and athletic full of daring and play. Unlike domestic cats Bengals love water and will even take a shower with you (minus the soap!). Their agility is jungle bred and lightning quick. Acrobatics is their forte.
No doubt, these brave Bengal creatures have carved out a special niche in the cat world. More than that they have proven to be the “cat-illac” version of their kind.
